1.1.6. The Art of Baroque Hairstyles, Makeup / ...a little history / The Encyclopedia of Beauty from Constantine.

 The extraordinarily intricate Baroque style emerged in Italy at the end of the 15th century.


 This style coexisted in parallel with the classical Baroque style, which emerged in France in the same 15th century.


 Both styles share a common feature of a geometric silhouette with clear lines and shapes.

 In the 15th century, the French king Louis XII strongly promoted this trend. And in the second half of the 17th century, Baroque classicism began to be called the style of Louis XIV. Thus, thanks to the efforts of the 15th-century royal court to popularize this style, in the 17th century France became a brand of trendsetter in world fashion, which today brings dividends both to the budget of factions and to the inhabitants of France was realized their intellectual potential in creativity.


 In the mid-17th century in mens, what we today call children's hairstyles came into fashion. Long fluffy hair, braided on the left side into a bun and decorated with a ribbon.

 By the second half of the 17th century, wigs had reached such perfection that France received orders from all over Europe, including Russia. Wigs became a commercial export item for France.
 Ladies of kingyard were required to wear wigs of several colors.

 From 1620 onward, as clothing details changed, so did hairstyles. They became more natural and simple. Short, slightly curled bangs were common. Medium-length strands were curled. This trend spread throughout Europe.


 Women bleached their skin, blushed their cheeks, their hairstyles were characterized by bangs and curls falling on their faces.  To strengthen the hairstyle, hairdressers used melted sheep fat, egg whites and scented it with oils.
